Residents are being encouraged not miss out their chance to help shape policing in Lincolnshire this spring.

On Thursday, May 5, voters in North Kesteven will go to the polls for the election of a Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for the county.

PCCs oversee the running of their respective police forces, with duties including appointing the chief constable, setting the budget and deciding police priorities.

Ian Fytche, electoral registration officer for North Kesteven District Council, said: “Only people who are registered can take part in May’s elections. People living in North Kesteven will need to register to make sure that they don’t miss out on having their say on polling day.

“Registering is easy and you can apply online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote in just a few minutes. You will need your date of birth and National Insurance number.”

The deadline to register to vote for the PCC elections is Monday, April 18.

Paper forms can be downloaded from the registration site or requested by calling 01529 414155.
