Kesteven and Sleaford High School held its first ever celebration evening to present Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards to students.
On Wednesday night, Jacky Secker from Lincolnshire County Council presented 33 Bronze and 10 Silver awards to High School girls in front of parents and guests. A further 28 British Heart Foundation Heart Start certificates were given out as part of expedition training and they celebrated the new appointment of older students as DofE Captains to supervise and advise the younger ones on bronze and silver awards.
Speakers were Marc Blackman, Greg Johnson and Carl Blackman who completed Disability Gold awards in 2010.
○ A Careers Insight Fair was held at the school on November 12, when 42 universities, colleges and employers gathered to offer information to students from years 11 to 13 from all three of the town’s secondary schools.
Colin Green, assistant headteacher said it was a fantastic opportunity for students considering their future careers. He said: “We’re really grateful for the people representing their organisations for the benefit of the students.”
