Reception and Early Years pupils at a village primary school are enjoying exciting play times after having a range of new equipment installed.
Walcott Primary School has funded the enhancement of the play area outside the classroom for its reception children and work has just been completed.
Reception teacher Naomi Fuller said: “It is the biggest investment in the Early Years Foundation Stage provision for a while.”
The youngsters now have a tower for role play, along with a wooden ‘space pod’ that can also be used for quiet reading, soft safety surfacing throughout, a water play area with a pump and gullies, big wooden stacking bricks, a mirror for dressing up play and even a stage at one end for ‘performances’. Headteacher Andrew Sewell hoped the continued investment would match the best schools in the area.
