A staff member from Sleaford’s McDonald’s store has reached the final of the fast-food giant’s national Employee of the Year awards.
Alix Potts has been selected as one of the runner-up finalists of the McDonald’s 2014 Employee of the Year award.
The 25-year-old was chosen to be one of the final four in the competition out of more than 100,000 employees across all the restaurants in the UK. The award recognises staff for their hard work, dedication and outstanding achievements.
She said: “I am so pleased to have been nominated for such a prestigious award. It is an honour to be one of the four finalists.
“Working at McDonald’s is always rewarding, challenging and enjoyable. I really believe if you maintain a positive attitude, then no task is too difficult. I’d really like to thank all my crew at the restaurant, my family and the judges.”
Alix started her career at McDonald’s in October 2002. Now part of the management team at the Lincoln Road branch, she was one of the first crew members to complete the apprenticeship programme and pass the McDonald’s NVQ Level 2 in multi-skilled hospitality.
Local franchisee Martin Cuthbert said: “Alix is a confident and talented young manager, who has made a real difference in the restaurant. She is highly respected by her peers and really understanding of her customers’ needs.”
