Heckington residents are being encouraged to take part in a consultation which could alter planning applications in village conservation areas.
The changes will preserve conservation areas around the village centre and the station.
Andrew McDonough, head of development, economic and cultural services at North Kesteven District Council, said: “In order to protect the most important elements, character and appearance of Heckington’s conservation areas for the benefit of future generations, we are seeking to introduce a new directive, which will mean that planning permission will be needed for certain minor improvements to houses within the conservation areas.”
The consultation closes on Monday, January 16, at 5pm. The new policy is expected to take effect from August 1.
