The future of a disused police enquiry office in Heckington is still uncertain, according to officials.
The office on Sleaford Road, next to Millview Medical Surgery, has not been used by community bobbies for some time, instead being used by other departments of Lincolnshire Police, until last year Heckington Parish Council was informed a review was being undertaken on such offices in the area and there had been a suggestion Neighbourhood Watch volunteers might man it.
Council chairman Richard Higgs said: “We had been invited by Alan Hardwick to discuss the Heckington police office and present the feelings of the parish council and the parishioners. My personal view is that if it is going to be sold then the Millview Medical Centre would be the obvious choice (for more office space).”
A police spokesperson said no decision has been made by Lincolnshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner in relation to selling the enquiry office.
