On Friday the Playhouse was the venue for a charity night to raise money for Lincoln Hospital’s Breast Cancer Unit.

The event was organised by Jenny Wright, of Ruskington and her family after undergoing treatment herself for breast and thyroid cancer.

The evening consisted of an auction and raffle with some excellent prizes and a performance from Jenny’s daughter’s successful tribute group, Planet ABBA.

On the night it was announced that just over £1,200 had been raised. However as people were leaving notes and coins were thrust into glasses which meant the final total raised was just under £1,800.

This amount far exceeded what was anticipated and the generosity of people and local businesses had been incredible.

The money raised will go towards purchasing a lipo-filler for Lincoln Hospital Breast Cancer Unit. This piece of equipment restores the breast to its natural shape following a lumpectomy procedure.
