This week is Dementia Awareness Week and yesterday (Tuesday) both Lincolnshire Police and Sleaford Library staff took part in Dementia Friend Sessions making them more aware of dementia and how they can be more supportive to people experiencing the condition in the local community.
On Friday there will be a coffee morning at the library from 10.30am to 12.30pm with a dementia friends session at 1pm for anyone to attend as long as they book in with the library.
Sleaford Dementia Support secretary Bex Mezzo said the group is now a registered charity with the Charity Commission. She said: “This came about because the residents in the Sleaford area have been so very generous with our community group that is now a charity.”
