The annual display of Christmas lights at number 89 and 91 Elmtree Road in Ruskington was as dazzling as ever when switched on last Tuesday.
Families turned out to see the switch-on of the outdoor illuminations erected by neighbours Jacky Cooper and Val Midgley and their families. Father Christmas was in his grotto and gave presents to around 120 children, plus their accompanying adults.
The lights will be lit from 3.30pm to 9pm daily until January 5 with donations going to Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, St Barnabas’ Hospice and a children’s hospice yet to be selected.
Any donations of lights and decorations are welcome, including old ones for spare parts. Mrs Cooper said: “We had to have a new stable and new collecting box this year and there are quite a few new lights as well.”
