A popular Santa fun run, which saw an amazing 250 entrants last year, is to return and organisers are hoping for even more of the jolly bearded men, women and children.
The second Sleaford Santa Run and Walk around the town’s streets will start at 10am on Sunday November 29, ahead of this year’s Christmas Market.
Organiser Dave Marshall, who runs Total Sports and Supplements, said: “I think we would get lynched if we didn’t do it again.”
It will be raising money for St Barnabas’ Hospice, having raised £917 last year.
Dave said: “I have no idea how many we will get this time - hopefully it will be a lot more.”
People can register through the website www.totalsportsandsupplements.co.uk or drop into his shop in Millstream Square, off Southgate to fill in a form.
The distance will again be 3km, covering a slightly different route, open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. Entry is £12, under fives free. There is a free santa suit and medal for all runners. Registration closes at midnight on November 22.
Dave said: “People can take it seriously or run with their families, take your pushchairs or dog.” He expected several young wheelchair athletes too.
He thanked fellow event sponsors PC Hut, K&M Landscapes, Aurora Training and Security Solutions and the Barge and Bottle.
This year’s market is expected to be bigger and better than ever, running from 11am-5pm.
