A unique celebration is taking place in the grounds of the new-look Lincoln Castle to mark 800 years of the Magna Carta.
On Saturday, the castle will host a Magna party, celebrating the 800th anniversary of the historic document.
The event, from 7-10pm, will be packed with music and dance, featuring: local acts Re-Suss, D-Feet and Game Over, winners of this year’s Dance Factor competition; Bang On – a junk percussion duo playing on a homemade drum kit made of recycled objects; Exception Elle – a dynamic duo of female breakdancers; SteppinOut Bollywood Dancers; and Big Beat – a junk percussion duo with driving rhythms.
The event will then close with the premiere of a street dance tribute to freedom from one of Britain’s most popular dance groups, Diversity.
Tickets £13 adults, £11 conc and £9 for children, are available from Lincoln Drill Hall Box Office 01522 873 894.
The event is unseated, but the audience can bring chairs and picnics. Refreshments will be available. Glassware and dogs will not be allowed into the grounds. Due to the loud music, the event may not be suitable for children under five.
