Metheringham’s community swimming pool has been forced to close due to ‘financial reasons’.
Metheringham Parish Council and Metheringham Swimming Pool Committee have announced they have had to close the swimming pool.
A statement from the parish council said: “This has been an extremely difficult decision. In spite of the dedicated work of the small band of volunteers who have run the pool, costs have continued to increase whilst user numbers have declined.
“The pool is over 40 years old and in need of significant refurbishment to bring it to the standard of other local pools. Unfortunately the money required for this work has not been forthcoming.
“An open public meeting will be held in the village at an early date to decide the long term future of the pool.”
