Glamourous frocks and West End stars were out in force at a fund raising event for charity marathon run last weekend.
Kate Cook, of Sleaford, organised a Heart and Mind charity ball at the New Life Conference Centre to help bring her up to the £1,700 target she needs to run the London Marathon next month.
Over 80 guests attended the event, with entertainment provided by West End stage and TV star Gavin Alex and Lucy Hope Borne, who sang mainly hits from West End shows, magician Scott Perry and local duo Frankly, Mr Shankly, as well as Lincoln TV and stage star Julie Fox as the charity auctioneer.
A three-course meal and the bar were also provided by volunteers.
All nine tables at the ball were sponsored by local businesses and many others donated raffle or auction prizes.
Overall Kate’s event, combined with other donations, has raised £2,139.85 for Mind, the mental health charity for whom she will be running the marathon. Kate said: “A great time was had by all according to the wonderful feedback I have been receiving.”
