Police officers were called out to Billinghay yesterday (Thursday) after three reports of suspicious people door to door selling.
The incidents were reported between 6.30-7pm in the Walcott Road, High Street and St Michaels Close area of Billinghay, explained PCSO Nic Page of Sleaford Rural North Neighbourhood Policing Team.
She said: “Descriptions of three males in their 20’s, wearing casual clothes/jogging bottoms carrying rucksacks were reported. They were knocking on doors stating they were trying to make some money and asking residents to buy household goods and equipment.”
Police attended, stopped all three men, details were taken and dealt with by the officers.
PCSO Page commented: “The Billinghay community was looking out for one another, especially the elderly residents, with Facebook comments making others aware and reporting to the police at the time of the incident.
“High visibility patrols will be carried out by the Neighbourhood Policing Team and if anyone has any questions or concerns please call me on 07825 725319.”
