An appeal against North Kesteven District Council’s (NKDC’s) decision to reject plans for a poultry farm near Leasingham is to be discussed at the village’s parish council next week.
It was in August when NKDC refused planning application for the facility, which would be sited off the A15 and have room for more than 500,000 birds, on grounds of its visual impact.
On Monday, at 7pm, at Leasingham Village Hall, the parish council will meet to discuss an appeal against the ruling.
The application had attracted large-scale opposition, with hundreds formally objecting to the proposal.
A linked plan for an anaerobic digestion plant in the same area has since been approved, though it took three votes and the chairman of the planning committee’s casting vote to decide the matter.
Here is our report from that evening.
