A manufacturer of radiators and baths based in Grantham has invested £40,000 in new equipment as it turns up the heat on its competitors.
Bosses of Trads, in Hurlingham Business Park, Fulbeck Heath, has bought new lifting and testing equipment which will help it meet the growing demand for its cast iron radiators and improve the quality of its products.

It will also ensure the company stays ahead of its competitors, especially those in China, in the battle to secure new orders in a market where demand in the UK has soared over the last two years.
The company, which makes about 6,000 radiators a year, employs 35 people and has recently taken on six new staff to cope with the extra demand.
The investment has allowed the specialist manufacturer to bring in two one-tonne cranes that it says will allow heavy cast iron sections and radiators to be moved around its production centre faster and safer than before.
A new water-filled testing tank will provide more rigorous product testing and improve quality.
General manager, Brian Athey said: “Investing heavily in our production process will lead to significantly quicker and more importantly, safer output.
He said: “There will be less manual handling and strenuous activity. We’ll be working safer and quicker, while at the same time improving our testing facility.
Mr Athey added: “Early estimates suggest that testing capacity alone will increase 400 per cent on current levels as a direct result of this outlay.
“Lead times will decrease, enabling us to respond more flexibly to customer demand and our buyers will find it reassuring to learn that we are making our stringent testing even tougher.”
Mr Athey said manufacturing techniques, such as the double-paint preparation, the use of CAD drawings and efficient casting machinery are helping set the company apart from competitors with less of a focus on quality.
He added: “We have ultimate control of our radiators and are able to offer complete options that can’t be replicated by our competitors.
“We are dedicated to our tradition of quality and producing the best of British.”
Trads supplies a variety of customers ranging from big projects with 80 radiators in a manor house to small one-offs for flats in London.
It is part of the Carron company, which has been in the heating industry for 15 years.
