A nominee in the running for this year’s Community Award in the Sleaford Town Awards is the team from Sleaford in Bloom.
The group’s volunteer members are said to work tirelessly for the town. Each year they enter the best kept town competition, always planning new ideas and initiatives.
They are currently working with the children at William Alvey School linking their work with the urban heritage trail ‘When in Sleaford’.
The Sleaford in Bloom team work with lots of other local community groups, including the Lincolnshire River Trust and the Rotary Club of Sleaford. If you look along the river bank opposite the William Alvey School you will be able to see some of the purple crocuses Sleaford in Bloom planted with the Rotary Club in an effort to raise awareness about the fight to eradicate polio throughout the world.
