The deadline to apply for grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 has been extended to next Monday, March 6.

Grants from the High Sheriffs’ Fund are available for community groups to help them promote a safer place to live and reduce crime in their communities.

Priority will be given to local applicants that demonstrate understanding of need and the impact on people’s lives in the community.

Work can cover small geographical areas such as housing estates or villages, but also in larger areas including towns and boroughs.

Successful grants have been awarded to projects covering the cost of summer activites, alternative curriculum provision, youth music, multicultural art sessions and for youth clubs.

Any possible ideas can be discussed with grant staff prior to applying by calling 01529 305825.
