From paint to skateboards, a new exhibition in Sleaford is spotlighting the wide-ranging work of a trio of Lincolnshire-based artists.
The showcase at the Carre Gallery, in Carre Street, opened on Monday and runs until Saturday, November 15.
Titled Contemporary Collective, it features the work of Richard Thomas, Aidan O’ Carroll and Mel Langton and as well as paint and skateboards, it also includes collage, digital media and print.
The trio have had pieces in galleries in Lincoln, but this will be their first exhibition in Sleaford.
Richard, originally from South Wales but a Lincolnshire resident for the last 13 years, said: “While our styles and approaches differ there is a connection between our work which brings it together, a bold and ‘edgy’ approach with a dramatic use of colour.”
Richard’s works explores storytelling and iconic imagery through the media of paint and collage.
Aidan uses digital media and print to encourage viewers to look at familiar scenes from a new perspective. Originally from Ireland, he has lived in Lincolnshire for more than 15 years.
Melanie is a Lincoln-based design and illustrator and produces a range of pieces, including canvases, printed t–shirts and limited edition prints of her digital artwork.
A special ‘meet the artists’ day will be held on Saturday.
