Dates have been put back for a major programme of resurfacing scheduled to take place on the A15 between July and September.
County highways officers say the works will ensure that the section of A15 and other A roads scheduled for work as part of the programme will have a longer lasting, more durable surface, avoiding the need for future unscheduled works which cause greater disruption.
Work will take place overnight at all sites between 8pm and 6am, to minimise disruption to the travelling public, and all but one site was planned for the school holidays, while the roads are traditionally quieter. The contractor will be required to keep noise to a minimum after 11pm.
Work on the A15 at Aswarby has now been postponed until October. The A15 will be closed between the hours 8pm to 6am, between Aunsby Road and Water Treatment Works. (Access to Tally Ho! pub to be maintained). A diversion will be in place via A52, B6403, A153.
Due to the nature of the work, the impact of weather, and the fact it’s a rolling programme of work these dates may be subject to change.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and drive with extra care and reduced speed over the newly treated surfaces until all road markings have been replaced.
