An elderly man in his 80s has been airlifted to hospital after a serious road collision between a car and a lorry on the A17 Sleaford bypass.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said emergency services attended the scene of the collision between a car and a static lorry near Kirkby la Thorpe on the westbound carriageway of the A17 bypass, reported at about 12.10pm this afternoon (Tuesday).
Sleaford fire crews attended the incident and used cutting equipment to release the male driver from his car.
The spokesman said: “The driver, a local man in his 80s, has been airlifted to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham with serious injuries.”
The road was closed to allow the air ambulance to land and motorists were advised to avoid the area if possible.
