There are reports of a serious collision having occurred on the A15 Sleaford bypass between Quarrington and Holdingham blocking the road.
According to witness reports emergency services are on the scene and the air ambulance has been in attendance as well.
The incident is believed to have been close to the roundabout junction with Grantham Road.
A police spokesman has confirmed the collision saying: “The incident was reported at 2.15pm and involves two cars and a caravan towed by one of the cars.
“There has been one serious injury.”
According to a Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman, hydraulic rescue equipment was used to release one casualty as crews from Sleaford and Billingborough initially administered first aid at the scene.
Road closures are in place and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
We have received dashcam footage from one passing motorist, who wished not to be named.
He told The Standard: “It looks to have been a head-on smash just as the vehicles came over the rise over the railway line. It is a dangerous spot as people accelerate away from the roundabout.
“I can see one vehicle badly smashed and the other is parked up nearby.”
* Traffic is very slow going through Sleaford because of the road closure.
