Peggy Sellars enjoyed a special celebration ahead of her 100th birthday, as she marked the day with fellow members of her local WI last week. Peggy enjoyed tea and cake with her friends and was presented with a personalised birthday card and a planter.
Ruskington WI secretary Jane Smith said: “Her mother was a founder member of the WI and she has been a member all her life, apart from when she was in the WAF.
“She moved here from Oxfordshire in the early 1970s and has been a member ever since.”
The national Women’s Institute marked its centenary last year. Peggy will celebrate her birthday again on the big day itself on Saturday.
