Dean double wins the day

East Coast Under-13s 2

Sleaford Town Boys Under-13s 3

TOWN under-13s put East Coast under huge pressure early on but the home defence stood firm.

East Coast soon raised their game and it was Sleaford’s defence that found itself under pressure.

The deadlock was broken by Harry Dean, who collected a loose ball and half volleyed a shot into the top left corner. On the counter, East Coast also found their way though the back line to equalize moments before half time.

The second half was only two minutes old when Kieran McGuire latched on to a pass from Roland Nye on the left and fired home a powerful shot.

But a moment’s lapse in concentration at the back opened the way for East Coast to level the score but excellent ‘off the line’ clearances by Zac Wilmont prevented East Coast taking the lead.

The deciding goal came from Dean, with an assist from McGuire. Dean deftly rounded the keeper and slotted the ball into the net between two closing defenders.

Man of the match: Lewis Brockington.
