Defeat for local teams in Premier Division

In the Taylors Garages Premier Division, Ruskington were beaten 2-1 at home by Old Leake.

After a goal-less first half, Old Leake stunned Ruskington with two goals in five minutes.

Ruskington halved the deficit with 10 minutes remaining - having been reduced to 10 men.

Billinghay Athletic took an early lead at Fishtoft, but the home side responded at once and finished the game as 7-1 winners.

In the Taylors Peugeot Division One, the big match of the day took place at Heckington Millers, where Freiston were the visitors.

During the first half both teams had chances but it was the Millers who struck first. The second half saw Millers slowly take control of the game, adding two more goals, with Freiston finding the net just once.

Elswhere, Old Doningtonians and Sleaford Colts drew 4-4 in their clash.

In the Taylors Vauxhall Division Three, recent signing Gary Handley helped Pointon A to a 5-1 home win against FC Boston with a hat-trick.

The Main Ridge Take Away Reserve Cup saw Billinghay Reserves finally secure their place against Pointon Reserves.

The tie looked like going into extra time until Richard Hall scored in the last two minutes to make the final score 1-0.

There was no cup upset at Swineshead Reserves, who comfortably saw off Rippingale & Folkingham Reserves, finishing 5-2 winners at home.
