A resilient Sleaford Town went ahead first but suffered a last gasp defeat at a new look Oadby.

There was an early chance for the Greens but Joe Smith fired over after a Chris Hollist miskick.

The Poachers were soon forcing the pace with with Jack Colley’s run on the left setting up Rob Morgan whose shot was saved by Phil McGann.

Ben Stephens struck the post for Oadby before Colley cut in from the left to draw another good save from McGann.

Colley rounded McGann only to shoot across goal while at the other end Ethan Somaiya saved a Smith snap shot.

Morgan, Stephens and Colley combined to create an opening for Jon Stevenson whose shot lacked power.

Sleaford broke out to take a 40th minute lead, Luke Hollingworth providing the cross for Ryan Oliver to head in his 11th goal of the season.

McGann was busy at the start of the second period, winning a race for the ball with Stephens and then fielding a well struck Stevenson drive. The keeper’s best save saw him tip away a Stephens effort after the midfielder collected a Tendai Daire ball out of defence to turn smartly.

The keeper was beaten by Ollie Brown-Hill’s 25 yard strike but the crossbar came to his rescue.

With the contest in its 90th minute, Oadby levelled with an opportunist finish from Stephens who had timed his run into the box to slot past McGann.

The drama was far from over as Oadby snatched all three points five minutes into stoppage time. Stephens fed Brown-Hill on the right and his cross was glanced home by Joe Latham at the near post.

Sleaford Town: McGann, Brown, Hewitt, Price, Ward, Fenton, Elliott (Sedlan), Smith, Oliver (Shaw), Asplin, Hollingworth (Allen).
