Jamie Shaw’s second-half winner helped Sleaford Town Reserves end their five-match losing streak in the Lincolnshire Football League.

The experienced striker, who joined Town as a 21-year-old in 2001, pounced with the only goal of the game at 13th-placed Nettleham on Saturday.

The slender victory lifted the Reserves above CGB Humbertherm into 11th place, having lost eight of their nine previous matches.

They now face a spell on the sidelines before their next fixture, a home match with Wyberton on Wednesday, March 15 at Eslaforde Park (ko 7.45pm).

* Sleaford Sports Amateurs missed a chance to climb the table when their match at Grimsby Borough Reserves was postponed by a waterlogged pitch.

Amateurs, who sit 11th in the Lincs League, will be in knockout mode this Saturday when they travel to Louth Town in the quarter-finals of the Supplementary Cup. Kick-off is 2.30pm.
