Sleaford Cricket Club’s preparations for the 2015 season are coming together well having negotiated the return of New Zealand international Tim McIntosh.
The high-scoring all-rounder will be playing his third season for Sleaford, having broken the league’s batting record on both previous occasions.
The club says he has set incredibly high standards, but his dedication to duty will doubtless see him make a major contribution both on and off the field. Sleaford are also hoping to recruit an international level junior bowler and a number of possible recruits are currently under scrutiny.
Pre-season nets training has been underway since the beginning of January. Having finished fourth in the ECB Premier League last summer, Sleaford skipper Oliver Burford will be hoping for a greater consistency with availabilty this year to make a major impression, as 2014 was disrupted by a combination of injuries and unavoidable work commitments which made fielding a settled side extremely difficult.
As ever, new players are always welcome and anyone interested is invited to contact the club’s cricket co-ordinator Nick Goacher on firstname.lastname@example.org
