Teams still have time to enter the fifth Caythorpe Dash which takes place on Sunday, February 7, at 11am.
The event is a half marathon for teams of four (two male, two female), running over the Canter short course, with the winners being the cumulative score of all four team members. All four run at the same time.
The event is also open to individuals, but is primarily a team race. There will be special medals for both fastest male and female as well the winning team.
This is a good challenging course, fully marshalled and signed. There is a small amount of road but it is mainly trail, footpaths, bridleways, across fields, uphill, through churchyard and over stiles, with three manned water stations.
Places are limited and all teams must be pre-registered, although there is on the day entry for individual runners (maximum 50 on the day).
At the end there will hot soup, Lincolnshire Sausage Hotdog and bread and butter pudding or apple crumble and custard.
It is a fund raising events that the Caythorpe Playing Field committee organises for the maintenance of the grounds, children’s playing area and its buildings.
Entry is £40 per team, individuals £15 (£20 on the day). Closing date for pre-entry is February 6.
