Sleaford Town Bowls Club have made a good start to their season, winning all of their first five matches,
At Cherry Willingham, in the District League, Town won on all four rinks and took the aggregate 99-71 to gain a maximum 14 points. New captain Colin Grosse, with Pete Annison and Phil Musson won 31-13, while Kris Moore, Steve Traynor and Larry Davies won 22-21, Ruth Bird, Julie Cope and Brian Srawley won 21-18 and Gerald Woodhead, Roger Neaverson and Roy Markham won 25-19.
Away at Heckington in the Woodhall Afternoon League, Sleaford picked up two rink rink wins to claim four points to the hosts’ two. Town’s winning sets were Arthur Norris, Mick Jarrald and Brian Srawley, 20-17, and Pete Annison, Colin Grosse and Roy Markham, 20-15. Match score 57-51 to Sleaford.
Entertaining last season’s champions St Giles in the Lincoln City League, Town won 93-74, for 14 points. Winning sets were John Parker, Roger Neaverson and Derek Smith, 26-8, Peter Stokes, Neil Mapletoft and Paul Jobson, 25-19, Lewis Jobson, Larry Davies and Andrew Bird, 27-25.
Town defeated 93-67 at home, winning three rinks and picking up 10 points. For Sleaford, Lewis Jobson, David Curt and Colin Grosse won 25-17, Pete Annison, Ken Dye and Gill Annison won 22-16, Arthur Norris, Steve Morris and Larry Davies won 27-14.
At Washingborough in the EBA League. Town won on all rinks, to take the match 61-30 on aggregate for a maximum 10 points, Gerald Woodhead, Kris Moore, Martin Titley and Andrew Bird won 18-10, Pete Annison, Gill Annison, Larry Davies and Phil Musson won 21-14, Ken Dye, Roger Neaverson, John Parker and Derek Smith won 22-16.

Ruskington beat Thorpe-on-the-Hill away in the Lincoln & District League, 91-78, before beating Cranwell at home in the Woodhall Spa League 63-38 and defeating Norman House in the Lincoln City League, 96-83.
