People in the Sleaford area with a yearning to get fit this year could do worse than be coached by former Olympian Sophie Allen.
Fulbeck’s Sophie represented Great Britain in swimming at the 2012 Games in London but has now retired from competitive sport.
The 23-year-old has just started up a Boxercise class at Fulbeck Village Hall on Tuesday evenings and is looking to expand further in and around Sleaford.
Sophie said she over the last two years she has been doing boxing and Boxercise three or four times a week as part of her swimming training.
She said: “It’s a bit of fun because no-one has done it before. I enjoy it myself and hopefully I can pass that on to everyone else.”
Sophie still coaches swimming, but only on a one-to-one basis, and during the day works for a Spalding-based company that sees her teaching PE lessons to primary schools, including swimming, netball and, of course, her new passion – Boxercise.
Sopie’s Boxercise at Fulbeck cost £5 per session and run from 6.30pm till 7.30pm.
