Members of Sleaford Rugby Club took tips from the professionals when they joined a Matchday Coaching Clinic with 10-time English league champions Leicester Tigers.
The Tigers Matchday Coaching Clinics give players the opportunity to work with the club’s coaches on individual and team skills, as well as taking tips and techniques with them to work on during the rest of the season.
The clinics also provide a chance to meet a first-team player and talk to them about playing professional rugby for the biggest club in the country and their hopes for the new season.
Then all groups join a bumper crowd at Welford Road to watch a first-team game and see the professionals put those techniques into practice.
The Sleaford players joined Sunday’s Tigers Matchday Coaching Clinic and watched the team’s win over Wasps, even having a team photo taken on the pitch at half-time.
Colin Owen, under 11s coach at Sleaford, accompanied the players for their photo with Tigers star Niall Morris, and said: “It’s been brilliant. We had a really great morning with the coaching and the Q&A with one of the players.
“The coaching session this morning topped it off for the boys and to come round on to the pitch as well is always really nice. They’ve had a really good day out.”
