Members of Sleaford Tae Kwon-do Club returned from the Lincolnshire Championships in Grantham with eight gold, three silver and 11 bronze trophies and medals.
Success included boys and girls from the junior club, the youngest of whom is just four years old.
For most of the children, this was their first competition and the club hopes the positive experience will hopefully encourage them to take part in other events in the future.
Henry Sutch returned with a gold in the brand new speed kicking event, whilst Lewin Hardy took bronze for the club in the tiny tots sparring.
Not to be outdone, the adult club success began early when Frances Arnold and daughter Rose won gold respectively in their patterns divisions. Frances went on to win gold in the ladies’ sparring and silver in the ladies’ team event. Rose’s success also continued when she won golds in flying kicks and in girls’ team sparring.
Heather Hardy, in her first competition for the club, gained silver in the ladies’ green belt sparring, and Richard Pope won gold in the equivalent men’s discipline.
First degree black belt Joshua Clarke won a gold and bronze in the men’s sparring events, whilst Matthew Keyse gained silver in the black belt individual sparring. Together the pair took bronze in the team sparring.
l The club meets at Northgate Sports Hall every Tuesday and Thursday and offers classes for boys and girls from age four years, followed by a separate family and adult group from age seven years. Anyone interested in further details should email firstname.lastname@example.org or ring 01476 570616.
