Sleaford Elite Gymnastics Club were visited by another Olympic medallist when trampoline star Bryony Page popped by for a gymnastics workshop.
Bryony wrote herself into the history books for UK sport last summer when she won Britain’s first-ever Olympic medal in the sport as she won silver in Rio.
She announced herself in 2012 by winning World Cup gold and has been crowned British champion three times.
In 2013 she was a member of the British gold-medal winning World Championship team, and has won European gold with Britain in 2014 and 2016.
The Sleaford club hosted several aspiring young stars from across the country who were thrilled to meet Bryony who gave advice and coaching tips, talked about her experience and wowed them with displays of her skills.
She also allowed the young gymnasts to try on her Olympic medal for size.
Patsy Shields, head coach of Sleaford Elite, said: “Bryony is an incredibly inspiring athlete that we are so honoured to have visit our little town and club.
“It means the world for our youngsters to meet and be inspired by Bryony and to realise that they could one day be as successful as her.
“It was an experience they will treasure all their lives. We can’t wait to see her qualify and go for gold in Tokyo 2020. We will be supporting her all the way!”
Patsy added: “She is one of a number of Olympic superstars that have travelled to our club to inspire our children.
“We can’t wait for the next one: Brinn Bevan, a real-life batman!”
