Sleaford & District Indoor Bowls Club marked their 25th anniversary with a celebratory event on Saturday.
Principal guests for the day included the Mayor of Sleaford, Gary Titmus, and his wife Judith, together with the first president of the club John Larder and his wife, and the first lady president of the club Winnie Blankley and husband Dave.
Members and guests began arriving at 1pm, at which time they were served tea and biscuits.
At 2pm a game of bowls was played between the club President’s men’s team and the Lady President’s ladies’ team on all six rinks.
The men won 159-95.
This was followed by members and guests sitting down for a two-course dinner.
After the meal, speeches and presentations were made followed by a raffle.
The anniversary day was a great success, making clear to all that Sleaford & District Bowls club have, in the 25 years of their existence, firmly established their place in the sporting and recreational activities of the local area.
The club is always looking for new members.
So any budding bowlers out there, of whatever age, who would like to come along and try their luck will always be made very welcome indeed.
