The winners of the 2014 Junior Sport Target Pistol Competition have been announced - with prizes going to competitors from Lincoln, Sleaford and Newark.
A silver medal was won by Leon Gallimore of Sleaford in the Enthusiast Class.
An award also went to Zak Kirkwood of Sleaford, who were also winners of the Sleaford Scouts air pistol competition.
The presentation was made at Sleaford Scout Headquaters, at which Leon was presented with the Enthusiast Class silver medal and UBC Junior Marksman Award and Scout Leader Andy Merrikin accepted the Junior Marksman Award on behalf of Zak.
The competition was arranged by the Hodgson Elkington Junior Sports Programme, supported with loan equipment supplied by Range and Country Shooting Supplies in Sleaford and awards from the Umarex Boys Club.
Mike Aspinall, Junior Sports Programme representative, presented awards to the winners.
He said “Some of our competitors in the Expert Class are already competing in 10 metre target shooting at an international level.
“We hope that some of the Enthusiasts who are now gaining experience at six yard shooting will progress to formal 10 metre competitive target shooting but, for those that don’t, the Umarex Boys Club are offering free on-line marksmanship training courses and a wide range of informal six yard on-line competitions.”
They are now planning to make this a free to enter annual event. For an entry form email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
