A seven year old gymnast from Scredington has walked 12km to raise an amazing £900 in sponsorship for her club.
Elizabeth Thorogood spent over three hours walking laps of a field near her family home to help Sleaford Gymnastics Club, which she attends every week, to raise funds for new equipment - particularly towards new beam safety mats.
Elizabeth came up with the idea and designed and printed her own sponsor form. She trained by striding around her school playground at break times.
Head coach Sammi Emsley (pictured with Elizabeth) presented her with an award for her efforts and said: “Everyone at the club is extremely grateful and proud of Elizabeth.”
The club welcomes raffle donations and sponsorship from companies or individuals too. One parent has had her head shaved and they have been selling cakes in the gym.
