Sarah Bill is hoping to impress selectors and earn her place in the England rugby set-up.

The 17-year-old - who only took the sport up four years ago - has been asked to trial for the England under 20s side at Birmingham this Saturday.

If successful, she could find herself representing her country as part of the team next season.

Sarah - who has been playing at Sleaford Rugby Club for the past two years after meeting her current teammates at trials for the Notts, Lincs and Derbyshire squad - has represented the NLD side for the past three campaigns, at under 15 and under 18 levels.

She plays at stand off for both Sleaford and NLD, but has been asked to play in the forwards at number eight for the Midlands Divisional team, who she also represents.

The budding rugby star currently attends Bishop Burton College, near Hull, where she is stufying for her A levels.

Sarah also combines this with an advanced apprenticeship in sporting excellence which is funded by the England Rugby Football Union.

After her previous club disbanded Sarah joined up with the Sleaford squad, and they have enjoyed a successful season.

The team won seven of their eight games in the NLD League.
