Sleaford Town bowlers had a successful week, winning four of their five matches.

At Long Bennington A in the ASC Metals League, only one rink won in a six-shot aggregate loss, 51—57, to take two points.

The winning rink was Peter Annison, Calum Campbell and Roy Markham (21—18). Andrew Morris, Ken Irwin and Kris Moore lost 16—18, and Linda Morris, Gillian Annison and Gwen Campbell lost 14—21.

* At home in the first City League match against Washingborough A, all four rinks won to take the maximum 14 points with a 100—53 aggregate scoreline.

Giving Town a good start was the rink of John Parker, Kris Moore and Derek Smith 32—13, and Neil Mapletoft, Paul Jobson and Ashley Caress (24—14), David Campbell, Roger Neaverson and Andrew Bird (18—12), Martin Titley, Richard Barnes and Trevor Cope (24—14) all followed suit.

* Away at Lee Road in the District League Hospital Cup, Sleaford won the match by six shots, 71—65.

Only one rink won, that of Joan Gilbert, Mick Faulkner and Larry Davies (30—12).

Peter Annison, Ken Dye and Phil Musson (14—18), Jackie Wareham, Gillian Annison and Bas Gilbert (13—15), Celcelia Faulkner, Brian Srawley and Roy Markham (15—20) all suffered narrow losses.

* In the Woodhall Spa Afternoon League at Cranwell, two winning rinks gave Town four points to the hosts’ two.

Clive Steadman, David Curt and Roy Markham lost 11—16, Jackie Wareham, Ken Dye and Bas Gilbert won 20—12, and Robin Wilson, Ken Irwin and Brian Srawley won 29—11.

* Up against Sleaford Bristol in the Sleaford League, three winning rinks gave Town victory by 76 shots to 63 and 10 points to two.

Mick Jarald, Ken Dye and Gwen Campbell (23—12), Joan Gilbert, Ken Irwin and Brian Srawley (18—15), and Gerald Woodhead, Stuart Morris and Bas Gilbert (19-15) all won, while the losing set was Calum Campbell, Clive Steadman and Larry Davies (16—21).
