A cracking day out
A cracking time was had by all at this year’s Swaton Vintage Day and World Egg Throwing Championships.
There was even an attempt to launch an egg into space beneath a weather balloon, which reached 35,000m going at speeds of 80mph and temperatures of -120 degrees, according to monitors before it crashed at sea east of Hull. A second egg launched later reached within 20km of Denmark. The boffins are already planning Eggsplorer 2 for next year’s event.
