Organisers of the 2015 Sleaford Art Event set to take place from March 30 to April 11 at the Carre Gallery in Carre Street are busy preparing for an exciting two weeks.

The event, run by volunteers, has been going now for more than 15 years and has become part of the cultural calendar in Sleaford.

This year looks like being a bumper year with more than 70 paintings in various mediums by local artists on display.

The Art Event Challenge which takes place on Monday March 30 has already attracted a number of entries. In the challenge, also held at the gallery, artists will have the chance to interpret a set piece in competition with each other. The results of the competing artists’ efforts will be on display and voted for by visitors to the show, with a prize and trophy presented to the winning artist at the end of the event.

A prize and trophy will also be presented for the overall Best in Show, as voted for by the visitors, so make sure you go along and cast your vote.

Enjoy the demonstrations by talented artists, cast your vote and enter the raffle.
