Digging up history

Join local archaeologist Dave Start to find out how you can help to uncover the archaeology of our county.

Starting on October 2, and then on October 9, from 1.30pm to 4.30pm, at the Heritage Lincolnshire offices in the Old School, Cameron Street, Heckington, the course provides an introduction to setting up an archaeology project for your area.

You will look at techniques to get your project underway and how to take your research from the archives into the field, how to find clues in old maps and aerial photographs, where to find information about your area in the Historic Environment Record, as well as techniques such as field walking, geophysics and test pitting.

The course is free to new learners, call 01529 461499 or email: htladmin@lincsheritage.org.
