The great outdoors will once again take centre stage when the NK Walking Festival returns this weekend following its successful debut outing.
The event, organised by 1Life, was launched last year in a bid to encourage people to discover what is right on their doorstep.
After winning positive feedback, it returns on Saturday, with a programme double the size it was last year.
Events officer Donna Sutton said: “North Kesteven is privileged to a vast open countryside with fascinating heritage and diverse wildlife.
“The NK Walking Festival aims to showcase these opportunities, bringing them to residents and visitors alike to enjoy the great outdoors.”
The festival runs from this Saturday to next Sunday and features walks across the district designed for all ages and abilities.
Each walk has a walk leader and most are free to attend.
A number of changes have been made to the festival since last year, including adding walks of longer length.
Some walks also feature ‘extra added value’, with one including a visit to the Magna Carta vault and Victorian prison at Lincoln Castle for £5 per person.
