Swaton Vintage Day again hosts the World Egg Throwing Championships this weekend - with family fun promised aplenty.

The five disciplines of target throwing, two-person throw and catch, egg trebuchet, static relay and Russian egg roulette are open to anyone on the day and bring together athletes to battle it out in
the multi-nation extravaganza.

For the first time a team from Hykeham Sailability, under the captaincy of Chris Johnson, will form Team England’s opening match in preparation for
their trip a week later to the Dutch Nationals in
Makkum.

The reigning throw and catch world champions, Britain’s Wells and Harison return to defend their title and attempt to break the new world record of 75.17
 metres.

The whole event runs from 10.30am - 5pm.

Admission £5, £4 OAPs, £3 school children, free for under 5s and £12 family
ticket.

There will be a full range of musical entertainment, vintage vehicles, beer tent, food stalls, terrier racing, birds of prey and trade stands filling the field at
Thorpe Latimer, between Swaton and Helpringham on Sunday.

Proceeds from the event go to local, national and international good
causes.
