This Saturday and Sunday, Cranwell Aviation Heritage Centre will take part in an amateur radio special event for International Museums Weekend.

A must for amateur radio enthusiasts and anyone just interested in heritage, International Museums Weekend was created in order to set up amateur radio special event stations at as many of the museums as possible throughout the whole of the world.

Event organisers will have a station set up at each site and Cranwell Aviation Heritage Centre at North Rauceby is one of them. They will be teaming up with Grantham Amateur Radio club over the weekend from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Visitors will also get the chance to have a go at Morse code on a Morse code sender and learn how to create and translate messages.

Museums taking part in the weekend over the years have included ships, castles, air museums, Napoleonic forts, pumping stations, wireless and racing museums.
