Sleaford’s National Centre for Craft and Design will celebrate the return of its touring exhibition Bathing Beauties with winter beach themed activities for all the family throughout the February half term.
The much travelled and loved Bathing Beauties beach huts will be welcomed back to Sleaford after seven years on the road and a selection of the best and most intriguing will be on display for the February half term for all to see.
The mezzanine floor of the centre has been transformed into a celebration of beach architecture and offers free drop-in activities during the half term holiday where children and young people can design their own bathing suits and pinwheel fans, or go on hunts for seaside-themed objects round the building.
The NCCD Café has also launched its new Creative Café station where children can enjoy interactive activities and parents can make use of the brand new feeding station.
On Saturday February 21, the Winter Beach theme continues with face painting from 10.30am – 12.30pm and Richard Knight will be running a free beach hut decorating workshop on the mezzanine with collage and paint sessions from 12-4pm.
Alongside all of this, the NCCD will be running its usual craft clubs and workshops for children. The Bathing Beauties winter beach theme will be extended to the Dinky Designers club today (Tuesday). See website for booking info and prices.
As well as activities The National Centre for Craft and Design has also opened some brand new exhibitions.
