So much to see at Christmas market

Sleaford Christmas Market is going to be bigger and better, with over 120 stalls likely to fill the town’s streets.

For this year’s market on Sunday November 29, there will be stalls on Southgate, Market Place, Money’s Yard and in the car park beside Shoe Zone.

Prior to the market, runners will be assembling for the Sleaford Santa Run. Meet by 9.45am for a 10am start at the Market Place. A number of roads will be closed for the duration of the Santa Run. Southgate will remain closed for the market.

There will be fairground rides in the Market Place and Money’s Yard too and even more live entertainment in the Market Place, starting at 10.30am with First Feet Entertainment, followed by the official opening by the Mayor, Coun Garry Titmus, at 11am.

This will be followed by: 11am Cranwell Military Wives Choir, 11.20am Angels Dance Troop, 11.40am The Mickey Money Boys, 12noon Carre’s School Choir, 12.20pm Dance for Dreams Studios, 12.40pm Kesteven and Sleaford High School choir, 1pm Once upon a party, 1.20pm Sleaford Play House, 1.40pm Go Dance, 2pm The Mickey Money Boys, 2.30pm St Botolph’s School Choir. There will be more entertainment around the market during the day.

At 3pm the traditional Christingle service begins in St Denys’ Church for children and families. This is followed by the switch on of the new Christmas lights in the Market Place by the Mayor with the children’s art competition winners. Then join in carols to the Silver Sounds brass band. The market finishes at 5pm.

In St Denys’ Church Hall the WI will be selling refreshments and you will find Santa’s Grotto for the children, along with his post box for wish lists.

Also look out for the Teenage Market off Carre Street, where you will be able to browse the stalls and enjoy live music and entertainment during the day.
