THE Cranwell branch of the RAF Association is hosting a concert in aid of the Wings Appeal.

The event on Friday, April 17, features the RAF Swing Wing big band, in the Whittle Hall at RAF College Cranwell.

The band, which is the dance orchestra of the Band of the Royal Air Force College, will perform under the direction of Flt Lt Matthew Little.

The concert starts at 7.30pm and is all in aid of Wings Appeal funds to help less fortunate members and past members of the RAF who have a variety of problems.

The branch’s members feel that this is an opportunity to show their thanks for the support that is given by the inhabitants of Sleaford and the surrounding area in their appeal efforts to raise money.

This year coincides with the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain which is honoured by the Wings Appeal.

Tickets cost £6, available from Tony Crossman, RAFA concert organiser, Support Wing Headquarters, RAF College Cranwell, Sleaford, Lincs NG34 8HB or call 01400 267562 or email: whittlehall
