The current tour by Tom McConville and The Transpennine Sessions comes to Harmston Village Hall this Friday.
This high-energy show includes songs, tunes and some amazing clog step dancing with material ranging from dustbowl ballads to bluegrass, old time and fast moving Celtic music brought to you by four highly accomplished performers.
With the Pennines as the hub, the show musically links Scotland and the Borders in the north, Ireland to Appalachia out west, then back over the Moors as far east as South Shields.
Tom was born and brought up on Tyneside in the North East of England. He is described as one of the leading fiddle players of our time. A virtuoso musician and singer, his rich and warm voice makes his interpretation of traditional and contemporary songs greatly admired by singers throughout the world.
In great demand as a performer, session musician and teacher, playing the fiddle is his lifelong passion. His live performances combine a roller coaster of musical delights from fast, rhythmic dance tunes, through beautiful slow airs and of course, great singing. All presented with his inimitable sense of humour and style.
The show starts at 7.45pm.
