The owner of a Sleaford pub is celebrating news that his business has made it into the midway line-up in the Waitrose Good Food Guide 2016.
John Clark, who runs the Queens Head at Kirkby La Thorpe with Paul Prust, learned about the news through a post on a Sleaford Facebook page.
He said: “We got into the guide for the first time for the 2015 edition. We are really pleased as this means we are one of the most voted for restaurants.
“We provide good, locally produced food and change the menu regularly to keep it interesting.
“We are just now introducing our spring menu.
“Our most popular are our Lincolnshire dishes, using ingredients from local farmers.
“A favourite is our steam suet steak and kidney pudding which we have had on the menu from day one.”
Elizabeth Carter, Editor of the Waitrose Good Food Guide, said: “Once again our readers have come up trumps, nominating their favourite independent restaurants with enormous enthusiasm and in such detail.”
Voting is open until May 12 with the ten regional winners and the overall winner announced in July.
